The world famous Marlborough Sounds are at your doorstep with 1,500 kilometres of spectacular coastline. Cruise the sounds, take a wildlife tour, swim with dolphins, watch for whales, hire a kayak and explore at your leisure or join a guided kayak tour.

Must-do's.

Marlborough is the sauvignon blanc capital of the world but there are many more varieties to sample at local vineyards. Join a wine tour or book a seat at one of the many top class restaurants along the Picton foreshore.

QUEEN CHARLOTTE TRACK

A 70km walking and mountain biking track listed as one of 23 Great Rides of the New Zealand Cycle Trail, it’s renowned for lush native bush and picturesque bays.

KAYAK THE SOUND

Hire a kayak and explore the multitude of bays, inlets and islands that make up the Marlborough Sounds or take a guided kayak tour (half-day or full-day) and get up close to penguins, seals and dolphins.

VICTORIA DOMAIN

You don’t have to travel far to enjoy great walks. Victoria Domain, just across the road from our holiday park, offers forested walking and mountain biking tracks with fabulous views of Queen Charlotte Sound.

EDWIN FOX MUSEUM

Step aboard the Edwin Fox for a museum tour with a difference. Over 160 years old and the world’s oldest surviving merchant ship, she once carried troops to the Crimean war. Hear about her life and times next door at the Picton Heritage and Whaling Museum.

PELORUS AIR SCENIC FLIGHT

Take in the sights of the Sounds starting with Picton and the Queen Charlotte Sound, then north to Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds. Fly over D’Urville Island, then head south east to Port Gore and Cape Jackson, past the historic Ship Cove and return to Picton with spectacular views of Cook Strait.

MOTUARA ISLAND BIRD SANCTUARY

A former farm, Motuara was declared a wildlife reserve in 1920. It’s taken a century of hard work but the island is now bush clad once again and predator free. Look out for tuis, saddlebacks and yellow crowned parakeets, and listen for the melodious bellbird.
