We recently teamed up with RoadyNZ for an epic road trip that took us through seven of our fabulous Tasman Holiday Parks across New Zealand’s North Island. From breathtaking beaches to lush mountain hikes, each day brought new discoveries and memorable moments. Here’s a closer look at our week-long journey, filled with insider tips and must-see spots.

Day 1: Starting the Adventure in Auckland, Heading to Miranda
Ther road trip began with the vibrant energy of Auckland as a backdrop. As they headed towards Miranda, they took the scenic coastal route, exploring hidden gems like Kawakawa Bay and Kaiaua. Tasman Holiday Parks – Miranda was the first stop, offering a peaceful retreat with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It’s the perfect spot for stargazing after a day of driving and exploring.
Day 2: The Coromandel Coast
The day began with a delicious breakfast cook-up at Tasman Holiday Parks – Miranda, setting the team up perfectly for the day ahead. They then hit the road, cruising along the stunning Coromandel coast. Along the way, they had the unique opportunity to check out an artistic masterpiece—a highlight not to be missed! After arriving at Tasman Holiday Parks – Coromandel, they took some time to chill by the pool, soaking up the sun and relaxing in style. The day wrapped up with a visit to New Chums Beach, rated one of the world’s top 10 beaches. This breathtaking spot is an absolute must-do in New Zealand, offering pristine sands and crystal-clear waters—a true slice of paradise.

Day 3: Discovering Crayfish Bay and Waihi Beach
Day three brought the team to one of the most beautiful spots in the Coromandel – Crayfish Bay. A true hidden gem, this beach is the perfect place to cool off during the summer and offers stunning views any time of the year. After a refreshing dip and some time soaking in the scenery, they headed down to Tasman Holiday Parks – Waihi Beach to relax. The evening concluded with a gorgeous sunset on Waihi Beach, wrapping up another perfect day on their North Island road trip.
Day 4: Exploring Around Waihi
Their fourth day of our road trip with Tasman Holiday Parks was packed with delightful experiences. Kicking off the morning with a cuppa and a refreshing dip at Tasman Holiday Parks – Waihi Beach. Fully rejuvenated, they embarked on the Wentworth Falls walk, an incredible half-day adventure and a hidden gem that’s well worth the trek—make sure to check it out on the Roady app for more details. Later, they unwound with a sauna and spa session at Tasman Holiday Parks – Beachhaven, which was just what they needed after a busy day. The day ended with another dip in the ocean, a perfect close to a fantastic day.

Day 5: A Day Full of Discoveries in the Bay of Plenty
Roadys fifth day started with a serene morning cuppa at Bowentown Lookout in Waihi, offering panoramic views that set the tone for the day. They then visited the iconic L&P bottle, a quirky and photogenic spot perfect for a fun photo op. Next, the team tackled the Wairere Falls walk, a must-do in the Bay of Plenty known for its breathtaking scenery and invigorating trails.
After working up an appetite, they indulged in an award-winning pie from Patricks Pies—a true taste of local cuisine that didn’t disappoint. Cultural exploration continued with a visit to the giant kiwi, another unique and memorable stop on the journey. Wrapping up the day with a relaxing sunset and dinner at Tasman Holiday Parks – Papamoa Beach, where the ocean’s calming sounds provided the perfect backdrop to the evening.

Day 6: Sunrise and Scenic Falls
The day kicked off with a stunning sunrise at Papamoa Beach, the perfect start to any day. Energised by the early morning beauty, Roady made their way to the Kaiate Falls. This series of cascades and stunning waterfalls is a sight to behold, and a short 20-minute walk brings you to the breathtaking bottom waterfall—a photographer’s paradise.
After the falls, they took a leisurely stroll around Mt Maunganui, soaking up the vibrant atmosphere and scenic views. The day concluded at Tasman Holiday Parks – Ohiwa, where they enjoyed a beachside BBQ cook-up, savoring good food and great company by the soothing sounds of the waves.
Day 7: Rounding Off with Rotorua’s Riches
The final day brought Roady to the geothermal heartland of Rotorua, a fitting end to our North Island adventure. Starting at the incredibly beautiful Hamurana Springs, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and peaceful surroundings—an absolute must-visit for nature lovers. Next, they soaked in the geothermal pools at Polynesian Spa, enjoying the stunning views of Lake Rotorua and relaxing in the numerous different spas available.
The team also visited Rotorua’s premium spa, Wai Ariki, for a cultural wellness session that provided a deep connection to the local traditions and therapeutic practices. Our adventure concluded at Tasman Holiday Parks – Rotorua, where they reflected on the incredible experiences and stunning landscapes encountered over the past week.
