Tasman’s South Mission Beach – Park History

Formerly known as BIG4 Beachcomber Coconut Holiday Park, Tasman Holiday Parks – South Mission Beach is truly located in paradise. Just two hours from Cairns on the Cassowary Coast, it has the closest access to the Great Barrier Reef. With 14 kilometres of white sandy beaches backing onto tropical rain forest, this should be one of the best parks in Australia.

With 14kms of white sandy beach directly in front of the park, Dunk Island opposite and the Cassowary conservation park at the rear, the choices are endless.

Yes, our knowledgeable and friendly staff can provide practical local advise of things to do and see, plus we can book any of the following activities for you: jetski and boat hire, Dunk Island visit, cruise, snorkel or scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef, sky dive and land on the beach, charter and beach fishing, boating, sea kayaking, art gallery visits, scenic drives, rainforest and beach walks, restaurants and foodie tours.

The park borders a conservation zone for the endangered Southern Cassowary and they are regular visitors in the park. This allows a unique opportunity for a close look at this private and beautiful creature.

The nearest Woolworths is 5km away, more shops and restaurants are about 10km.

Beachcomber Coconut Café located within the park is open from for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, Wednesday-Sunday,  7.30am – 7.30pm.
There’s also further choices about 10km away.

BEACHCOMBER COCONUT CAFE

Open 7.30am – 7.30pm.

Enjoy a glass of wine, a coffee or great fish and chips with a beachfront view. Takeaways available along with the holiday essentials: soft drinks, chips and ice-creams!

A flaky croissant dusted with powdered sugar is filled with a creamy mixture and served on a white plate. It is garnished with halved strawberries and accompanied by a dollop of caramel sauce and decorative drizzles of red berry coulis.

SHANTI CAFE

Open 6.30am – 2.00pm.

Known for its modern Australian cuisine with a tropical Bali-style atmosphere. Its setting features colorful sofas and a relaxed vibe, ideal for enjoying their coffee, cocktails, and a selection of housemade cakes and pastries
