There are heaps of beaches to check out in the Merimbula area. Two of the best are Merimbula Main Beach, a favourite with surfers and the invitingly shallow Spencer Park Beach, great for families, with a playground too.

Explore the Sapphire Coast’s natural attractions, take a scenic flight, get acquainted with native wildlife at Potoroo Palace Animal Sanctuary. Trek from Merimbula to Tathra on the Wharf to Wharf Walk, hike the Goodenia Rainforest Track, or pack a picnic for tranquil Turingal Head.

MERIMBULA AQUARIUM

With 27 tanks and a dedicated Oceanarium, marine lovers of every age are in for a treat. Featuring sharks, octopus and tropical fish, don’t miss the fish feeding – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Mon-Fri during school holidays).

DOLPHIN/WHALE WATCHING CRUISES

Encounter whales, dolphins, seals, penguins and turtle on an adventure cruise, departing from Merimbula. From August to November, ou can spot migrating humpbacks and southern right whales in Merimbula waters.

MERIMBULA SEASIDE MARKET

Grab yourself a bargain at this thriving beachside market in Ford Park. Every third Sunday of the month, you can snap up food, produce, fashion, crafts and more, then relax at the surf beach, playground and picnic area next door.

MAGIC MOUNTAIN

Spend a day at this fascinating Merimbula theme park, with grand-prix racing cars, water slides, roller coaster, jumping castle, mini golf and Tree Climb Challenge for the bigger kids. Enjoy the picnic area and BBQs or buy food on site.

Merimbula Boardwalk

MERIMBULA BOARDWALK

Wander through the mangrove forests and shade eucalypts on this delightful walk, taking in the area’s oyster farms en-route. Watch for Merimbula’s resident seal, grab a coffee at Sunny’s Kiosk, hire a boat or kayak, then stay to snap a gorgeous sunset.

Tuck in at one of the town’s great cafes or restaurants. Enjoy an RSL dinner or takeaway. Get pizza delivered to the holiday park. Try the romantic My Valentina, Wheelers Seafood Restaurant, or the Waterfront Cafe on Merimbula Lake.

Whatever kind of fishing floats your boat, you’ll find it in Merimbula. Fish from the beach, cast a line from the wharf, or try your hand at reef, game and kingfishing with a boat charter.
