BEACH WALKS
Start at Ledge Point or travel the Indian Ocean Drive to some of the most beautiful beaches along the coast. Soak up the serenity of a peaceful walk with panoramic views. For a treat, take a picnic dinner at sunset.
WILDFLOWERS
Wildflower season in September & October is sensational! Plan a scenic drive alone Orange Springs Road, towards Dandaragan or insland towards Moora. Admire delicate flower, banksias, kangaroo paws & vibrant yellow canola fields. In December, look for Christmas trees and wildflowers at Moore River National Park.
PINNACLES DESERT LOOKOUT & DRIVE TRAIL
The Pinnacles – thousands of magnificent limestone pillars that jut from the yellow sand – are located in Nambung National Park near Cervantes. Drive or walk the 4km trail through the alien-looking landscape formed more than 25,000 years ago.
NILGEN LOOKOUT & WILDFLOWER WALK
Visit Nilgen Nature Reserve for picturesque views of the Indian Ocean. Choose a 200m stroll directly to the loojkout, or walk the accessible 600m loop trail. See banksias, kangaroo paws, lizards and mammals – if you’re lucky, perhaps even tiny native honey possums.
LANCELIN ISLAND
A small boat or kayak will give you access to Lancelin Island. Only 600m from the shore this island boasts beautiful beaches, suburb swimming and diving spots, and gorgeous views. Follow the boardwalk to observe seabirds, lizards, sea lions and more.
FOUR-WHEEL DRIVING
Get off the beaten track to discover the wonders of this stunning region. Go beach driving from Ledge Point and Lancelin. Tackle the Lancelin sand dunes, Wedge Island or venture further afield to the Pinnacles and Turquoise Coast.
Lancelin Sand Dunes
Hire a sandboard and embrace the thrill of flying down Western Australia’s biggest sand dunes. Climb pristine white dunes for impressive views of Lancelin and the coast – it’s awesome at dawn or dusk! Explore this 2km-long dune system via four-wheel drive, quad bike, dirt bike or guided tour. Lancelin is 10km from Ledge Point.
