Ten Tasman Kids Holiday Activities to Keep Them Entertained

With school holidays fast approaching, it’s time to start thinking about where to go. However, travelling with the kids in tow can be a little daunting. What happens if they don’t like the destination, get bored and nothing interests them?

Staying at a Tasman Holiday Park is a safe bet. We have plenty to keep kids of all ages entertained with special school holiday programs and a range of fantastic facilities. Here are just ten activities that are part of our school holiday program. We have also listed our holiday parks where you will find these fantastic programs.

Fun school holiday programs the kids will love
1. Leaf Characters

The kids will love getting creative and making art from nature. Kids will search the holiday park to collect fallen leaves of different shapes, sizes, and colours. They can then create leaf characters by drawing little faces on their leaves. A great way to get creative whilst making new friends.

2. Pet Rocks

Pet rocks are taking the world by storm. Kids love collecting rocks, painting them, then hiding them for others to find. That’s why we got on board with this latest trend and made it part of our school holiday program. Kids will receive rocks and paints to decorate as they wish. They can take their new pet home with them as a little souvenir or hide them for someone else to find.

3. Pool Party

What better way to make new friends than with a pool party. Soak up the sun with giant inflatables, pool games, water pistols and good-time tunes. Don’t forget to slip, slop, slap. Take some happy snaps of your memorable moments and share them with #mytasmanmoment.

4. Colour Hunt

Here’s a fun game the whole family can enjoy, a colour hunt. Kids will receive a colour-hunt worksheet. They can use this to identify colours around the holiday park. A fun little game for all ages.

5. Colouring-in competition

Who doesn’t love a colouring-in competition? It keeps the kids occupied for hours, helps develop fine motor skills and concentration, and get their creative juices flowing. Plus, think of the sense of accomplishment they’ll feel when finished, or better yet if they win.

6. Biscuit Decorating

Unleash the kid’s inner artist with a no-cook decoration activity. Kids will receive tasty biscuits to decorate with icing, sprinkles, lollies, and other sweet treats. The best part about this activity is they get to eat them at the end – yummy.

7. Puppet Show

Create your own puppets and perform a puppet show for your new friends. This is a perfect way for the kids to meet others their age. It encourages teamwork and social skills as they develop characters and a story. Create puppets from socks, googly eyes and a wild imagination.

8. Design a T-Shirt

Forget hitting the souvenir store for a tacky tee you’ll never wear. Get the kids to create their very own shirt. They can decorate the shirts provided with fabric paint, glitter, and stick-on letters until their heart’s content.

9. Hopscotch

Have a little bit of old-fashioned fun with a classic game of hopscotch. Kids split into two teams and race down the chalk-drawn path. A little bit of healthy competition amongst new friends.

10. Pom-Pom Racetracks

Get ready to go racing with Pom-Pom Racetracks. Race pom-poms down a track outlined by electrical tape by blowing them through a straw. Guide them down twist and turns until you reach the finish line. The team that finishes first will be crowned the winner.
